Jill and Mr. Darcey

Hi there!  Thank you so much for checking out my site!  You’re probably wondering what it means to be “Only Jill,” so here’s a little bit about me:

I’m originally from Hobbs, New Mexico, but have made Covington, Louisiana my home.  I live with my husband Luin, and my black and white cat named Mr. Darcey. He is my favorite thing in the whole world!

My Mom and Grandpa were both teachers, so that obviously influenced my decision, but the main reason I became a teacher was to make a difference.  I’ve been teaching for 9 years. I have a Bachelor’s Degree, a Masters in History, and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction, all from Texas Tech. I got my MA in History from Southeastern Louisiana and my MA in Curriculum and Instruction for University of Kansas.

Oops……

I can be extremely klutzy, and a lot of the crazy things that happen to me have my friends and family constantly exclaiming “Only Jill,” but I believe that the key to a good life is to be able to laugh at oneself.  My goal is to share my funny stories about my daily life both inside and outside of the classroom to make people smile! If you’d like to reach out, you can contact me here.

Have a wonderful day!

— Jill
